Some of the best family memories in Miami happen on the water. Whether you're celebrating a bar or bat mitzvah, gathering the family for Hanukkah or Sukkot, or marking an engagement, an anniversary or a family reunion, a private boat on Biscayne Bay gives you something no event hall can: your family only, the Miami skyline, crystal-clear water and a day nobody forgets. Mazel tov!
Celebrate on the water: Jewish holidays and family gatherings with 1 Life Boat Rental, Miami Beach
Why a private boat is perfect for a simcha
- Your family only: a 100% private charter, never shared with strangers.
- Bring your own kosher food: you choose exactly what's served (more on that below).
- A schedule that fits you: we run 7 days a week, so you can plan around Shabbat and the holidays.
- Photos you'll frame: Star Island mansions, turquoise sandbars and the Miami skyline at sunset.
- Safe for all ages: a USCG-licensed captain and life jackets sized for every guest, from toddlers to grandparents.
Bar mitzvah and bat mitzvah boat parties in Miami
A bar or bat mitzvah boat party is one of the most memorable ways to celebrate becoming b'nai mitzvah. Families usually choose one of three formats:
- The family celebration: parents, grandparents and siblings on a relaxed 3 to 4-hour cruise after the service weekend, with a toast at sunset.
- The teen party: the bar or bat mitzvah and their friends swimming at Haulover or Nixon Sandbar with music and snacks. Our captain supervises the boat, every guest wears a properly sized life jacket, and a parent or chaperone comes along.
- The out-of-town guest outing: when relatives fly in from New York, Israel or Europe, a Sunday cruise past the celebrity homes is the perfect welcome to Miami.
Popular add-ons include a stop at Raccoon Island, a celebrity homes cruise past Star Island, or a sunset cruise for the photos.
More Jewish celebrations on the water
- Hanukkah: December in Miami means warm evenings. Book an evening cruise to see the city lights, and bring sufganiyot and a battery-operated menorah (no open flames on board).
- Sukkot and Passover (Chol HaMoed): the intermediate days of Sukkot and Pesach are a favorite time for family outings, perfect for a sandbar day with the kids.
- Purim: costumes, music and mishloach manot on a boat make a Purim celebration the whole family will talk about.
- Lag BaOmer: celebrate outdoors in the spring with a day of swimming and sunshine.
- Engagements, l'chaim and aufruf weekends: a private sunset cruise is a beautiful setting to celebrate a new couple, or to plan the proposal itself.
- Anniversaries, birthdays and family reunions: any simcha is better with the whole family together on the water.
Kosher food and drinks on board
All our charters are BYOB and bring-your-own-food, so you can bring kosher catering, platters from your favorite kosher spot in Miami Beach, or home-made food. We provide water, sodas, ice and cooler space. Tip: sealed, ready-to-serve platters and disposable plates are easiest on a boat. Guests must be 21+ to drink alcohol.
Planning around Shabbat and the holidays
We sail 7 days a week, so it's easy to work around Shabbat and Yom Tov. Many families book on Sunday or a weekday, or on Friday morning with a return well before candle lighting. Tell us your timing when you book and your captain will plan the route around it.
