There’s no better view of this city than from the bay at sunset.

Evening tours depart from 5pm onwards — bring champagne, bring your crew, and let your captain handle the rest. You’ll cruise past Star Island and the celebrity mansions in the last of the daylight, then watch the sky turn pink and orange over Biscayne Bay as the city lights flicker on behind the skyline.

No neighbouring tables, no rushing between courses, no waiting for the check. It’s just your group, open water and the best seat in Miami — and your captain finds a quiet stretch of bay away from other boat traffic for the main event.

Duration & timing

Timing your sunset.

Sunset in Miami ranges from around 5:30pm in early winter to after 8pm in midsummer, so your departure time shifts with the season. We’ll suggest the perfect slot when you book — usually about 90 minutes before sunset, which gives you daylight for the mansions and the full colour show over the skyline.

Evening slots book up. For a weekend sunset slot, book a few days ahead. Want a swim too? A 4-hour charter can start with a late-afternoon sandbar stop and ride home at golden hour.

Questions

Sunset cruise FAQ.

More on deposits, BYOB and departure points in the general FAQ.

What time does the Miami sunset cruise leave?

Evening slots start from 5pm. We usually recommend departing about 90 minutes before sunset, which changes through the year — we’ll suggest the ideal time for your date when you book.

How long should a sunset cruise be?

Most couples and groups book 2–3 hours: enough to see the mansions in daylight, anchor for golden hour and stay for the city lights.

Can we propose on a sunset cruise?

Yes — it’s one of the most popular settings for proposals. Let us know when you book and your captain will help time the moment and find a quiet stretch of water.

Can we bring champagne on the boat?

Yes, it’s BYOB. Bring champagne or your drinks of choice; we provide water, sodas, ice and cooler space.

Can we swim on a sunset cruise?

There’s less swim time at sunset. If you want both, book a 4-hour charter that starts with a late-afternoon sandbar stop and cruises back at golden hour.

How far in advance should we book a sunset slot?

Weekend evenings book up first — a few days ahead is safest. Weekday sunsets are often available at shorter notice.
