Every October the same question comes up: what to do for Halloween in Miami? The bars on Lincoln Road and South Beach are packed, cover charges climb and you spend half the night in lines. A private Halloween boat party on Biscayne Bay is the opposite: just your crew in costume, your music, the Miami skyline lighting up at sunset, and nobody else on board.
Halloween on the water: a private sunset cruise in Miami Beach with 1 Life Boat Rental
Why a Halloween boat party beats a night out in Miami
- It's 100% private: your group only, no strangers, no velvet rope.
- Costumes, your way: matching group costumes look amazing on the water and in photos.
- BYOB: bring your own drinks (guests 21+) and snacks; we supply water, sodas, ice and cooler space.
- Your playlist: four Bluetooth speakers on board, so the spooky soundtrack is up to you.
- The view: there's no better Halloween backdrop in Miami than the skyline at golden hour.
Halloween 2026 falls on a Saturday: book early
This year October 31 lands on a Saturday, which means Halloween weekend will be the busiest boating weekend of the fall. Friday October 30 and Saturday October 31 sunset slots go first, followed by the weekend before (October 24 and 25) for groups who want to celebrate early. If you have a date in mind, reserve it with the $100 deposit now. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure.
The perfect Halloween cruise: our suggested route
Most Halloween groups book a 2 or 3-hour sunset cruise starting around 5pm from our dock at 2400 Collins Ave, Miami Beach:
- Celebrity mansions at golden hour: cruise past Star Island, Palm Island and Hibiscus Island as the light turns orange.
- Sunset over the skyline: on October 31 the sun sets around 6:50pm. Your captain anchors with the best view of downtown Miami for group photos.
- City lights on the way back: watch Miami light up across Biscayne Bay before heading back to the dock, or out to your Halloween party.
Prefer daytime? An afternoon sandbar cruise in costume at Haulover or Nixon Sandbar is just as fun, and makes for unforgettable pictures.
Halloween boat party ideas
- Pick a group theme: pirates, sailors and mermaids are obvious winners on a boat.
- Battery-powered decorations only: LED string lights and glow sticks look great after sunset. No candles or open flames on board.
- Make a spooky playlist and connect your phone when you board.
- Bring themed snacks and drinks in a cooler, and we'll have the ice ready.
- Plan your photo moment: the skyline at sunset is the shot everyone will post.
Costume tips for a boat
- Wear non-slip, flat shoes: decks get wet. Save the heels and platform boots for later.
- Skip long capes and trailing fabric that can catch on rails or get wet.
- Bring a light layer: the breeze picks up on the water after dark.
- Keep masks off while the boat is moving so everyone can see clearly.
